Europa: Figs with Prosciutto, Goat Cheese, and Thyme Honey

Figs- Summer 2013.jpg

SIMPLE SUNDAYS- What a beautiful collection of ingredients, n'est-ce pas? The beautiful fig is in season and we must take advantage! I have been scurrying across the road, harvesting from our neighbors tree before the Ghent squirrels take their share.

The figs delicate sweetness reminds me of something the ancient Gods would eat.... perhaps I shall sit in a toga today and snack away. All I need is someone to feed them to me....and fan me.

RECIPE (ingredients per plate, multiply as needed)
-2 pieces prosciutto
-1 thick cut round of soft goat cheese (they have a good one at Trader Joe’s)
-2 fresh figs, halved
-2 Tbsp honey
-1 sprig of thyme
-cracked pepper and salt, to taste

-Remove the leaves from the sprig of thyme
-Combine with honey and microwave for 20 seconds (should be hot)
Arrange all ingredients on plate as desired
